Patrick Njoroge, the governor of the Central Bank of Kenya, spoke to the media about the shutdown of De La Rue, which manufactures money in Kenya.

Njoroge responded to inquiries on January 31 2023 by stating that the suspension will have an effect on the firm’s indirect support of 3,000 employments and the 300 direct employees it employs.

He claimed that only individuals who support the industry in Kenya through their work would experience the effects of the stoppage.
However, Njoroge reassured that there is adequate money in circulation and that the Central Bank of Kenya has no fears about a cash shortage.
